Los Angeles County Superior Court - Adult Adoption of siblings

February 2022

Los Angeles County Superior Court - Adult Adoption of siblings - Stepfather adopted siblings, ages 24 and 27 years old.  In this case, the birth certificates of the siblings had different mother's names on them, even though each has the same mother.  This is a common mistake with Hispanic last names in the United States' databases.  A Notarized Declaration of Facts by the Birth Mother was prepared to explain to the Adoption Judge the difference in the birth certificates and the correct information requested in the Adoption Orders.  Time from case filing to completed adoption order, 6 weeks.
