April 2026 Los Angeles County Superior Court Adult Adoption of Adult with Developmental Disabilities - 45 years old Stepfather adopted 23 years old Stepdaughter with developmental disabilities.  As required, the Judge made detailed inquiry of the facts of the adoption and made finding that the adoption served the best interests of the adoptee and was in the public interest. Appropriate legal notice of the Adoption filing and Adoption hearing date/time/location was given to the East Los Angeles Regional Center and proof of the notice was filed with the court. The Case took approximately 35 days from start to finish.
